1. Overview

CleanMails is an open source cold email platform licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). These terms govern your use of the CleanMails website (cleanmails.online), the install script, and the release distribution hosted on our infrastructure.

2. License

The CleanMails source code is licensed under AGPL-3.0. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the software in accordance with the license terms. If you run a modified version as a network service, you must make your source code available to its users. The full license text is available in the LICENSE file.

3. Self-hosting

When you self-host CleanMails, you are solely responsible for:

• Compliance with all applicable laws regarding email communication, including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and local regulations.
• The content of emails sent through your instance.
• Security of your server, credentials, and data.
• Obtaining proper consent from recipients where required by law.
• Maintaining appropriate SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for your sending domains.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use CleanMails for:

• Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam) in violation of applicable laws.
• Phishing, fraud, or any deceptive practices.
• Distributing malware or malicious content.
• Any activity that violates the laws of your jurisdiction.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

CleanMails is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the software will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.

6. Limitation of liability

In no event shall CleanMails, its contributors, or maintainers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the software, including but not limited to email deliverability issues, data loss, server downtime, or third-party service disruptions.

7. Updates and distribution

Release artifacts are distributed via Amazon S3. The install and update scripts download software from our infrastructure. We reserve the right to modify the distribution mechanism. We make reasonable efforts to keep releases available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

8. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the website or software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated through the project's GitHub repository.
